Some changes to the site

So as you can probably tell I have been making some changes to the site lately.

I have been tying some things up on my end of life, and am starting to get some time to put into the site. I will be getting a domain name soon, and some private web hosting, and get a new blog going.

For now I will be using Blogger to keep my posts going, and to keep my pay per post up. But eventually (meaning in a couple of days) I will be setting up my personal website, with my own domain, and my own blog.

I will also be starting up a partner ship with another friend of mine and setting up a blog with several authors, along with a public forum to talk about the articles we post on there.

If you would like to help support either websites, please let my know by sending me a email at jjonesdesign@gmail.com with the subject "TheJonesTheory"

Thank you all, and have a great night.

My essay on cultural imperialism

The following is the Essay I wrote for my College course, Current Issues.

URL to article: http://www.aynrand.org

This article talks a lot about the threat of terrorism, and how the world will not being able to find peace by sticking to the ways we have now. It talks heavily about "cultural imperialism". The voluntarily acceptance in changes in ideas, art, and entertainment produced in civilized countries.

When reading this article is was shocked by the way they worded their meanings. A lot of these things would have to happen for the world to be at peace. But by changing every society to accept one stance is impossible. Everyone in the world has their own ideas and their own stances. What shocked me was when they brought up “voluntary persuasion “. Volunteering for something means that you are not brought over by any other forces of persuasion. Yet the meaning of persuasion is to be convinced by some outstanding force that effects your decision. To me, voluntary persuasion is impossible. Persuasion over powers voluntarism.

People stand up for the wrong arguments

Ok, So today I had an epiphany that started when I got my first couple of calls today at work. I'll explain.

The average volume of the calls we receive at work (Verizon Wirless) are orintaed around people who are either confused about their bills, Don't agree with their charges, Or are calling to complain about the 3.50 charge that their daughter got from texting her friend.

But when they question their daughter, she denies ever doing it. So the customer calls in and complains about the charges, stating that since her daughter says "She Did Not Do It" Our multi billion dollar billing system is wrong.

This particular phone call consisted of a few stages. The first stage consisting of the 5 minute intro where I introduce my self as an employee of Verizon Wireless, and ask what the problem is, while pulling up account information and verifying security codes. The second part which in this case consisted of about 30 minutes, was nothing more then me holding my tounge while the customer raises their voice and uses abusive language while they explain that my billing system is wrong.

After apologizing for my company, explained the situation, and going through the 3rd and final stage of explaining for another 15 minutes that these charges are valid, and will not be credited to the account, The customer insists of stating their opinion on the company, and drags the 15 minutes to another 25. While the customer tells me I can put the company in places of my body where it is not suppose to be, and demanding that I fix the billing system because it has problems and does nothing but "Takes advantage of the American people"

This brings me to my reason for typing here today. People will spend roughly two hours of their day to call me up and complain about a 3.50 charge from a company who they signed a contract with, while calling them someone who "Takes advantage of the American people". But when it comes to more important things, like being taken advantage of by the government, or by gas companys, or by other parts of the world that have more meaning then a wireless cell phone company, They don't do shit about it.

Are people these days to afraid to stand up for bigger and better things? Is it easier for them to take their anger from the real world, out on a customer rep. Are they too afraid to take the same rebellion of 3.50, and turn it into something more productive like fixing gas prices, World hunger, or even our corrupt government? Verizon wireless can't ruin your life, So why be scared of the company?

People are strong enough to complain about their wireless service, which realy does not effect their lifes. But when it comes to more important things, like economy, and out government. They hide in their homes in fear, and take what they are given. They eat from the hands of our government, and when they get slapped by it, do nothing but complain behind their backs.

It's time people. Take a step forward for out nation. Stop fearing that which runs your life. Stop living in fear, and stand up for your self. Stop blaming other people for the real problems of this world. Fucking do something about it.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force - an arrest

If you read the artical http://wbztv.com/topstories/local_story_031135507.html at this site you will see how obserd our country is getting.

"(WBZ) BOSTON Boston police say they have made in arrest in connection to the suspicious device scare that turned out to be a marketing ploy for a television cartoon. The Peter Berdvosky was arrested in Arlington Wednesday night and charged under a recently enacted statute making it a crime to place a hoax device that results in panic.

The scare forced bomb units to scramble across Boston all day. The "devices" were actually magnetic lights which resemble a character on the show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", on Turner Broadcasting's Cartoon Network."

This just gives me more of a reason to watch their show, and go see the movie

We are all one... The world is one

If some of you remember the great song written and song by john Lennon, you will remember him saying "the world will be as one ". This is what makes me think about this song.

Not many things in life stop me in my tracks, make me think, or even get my teary eyed, But the other night I saw something that did all those things. This video that I saw not only made me think about all the people in the world, it all most brought me to tears. That may sound a bit corny, Maybe it is, But there is something about this video that just delivers a message. A message that only this video has been able to project to me.

You may think I'm emotional, or that I'm a wimp for being male, and getting watery eyes from a You tube.com video. But Therese something about this video that combines art, compassion, and love. What is amazing about this video, is that there are about a hundred people involved in it. JUST in this video. Yet it displays the message the whole world is looking for.

Not often do you find videos now days, that aren't self centered, Random, and spazmatic or full of stupid high school kids jumping off roofs. So when there is a video, that evolves the whole world, while keeping peace, and showing love toward one another, I think it deserves to be post on every web page on the Internet.

And so after saying that, I leave you with these lyrics, and the video. Stop, think, and imagine. Open your mind, and think peacefully. Be kind, Be Loving, and share the respect that everyone deserves.

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
