Future Weapons: 2010

Do to popularity I have decided to do another post about future weapons. 2010 has a lot in store for our people over sea's. The military has implemented some amazing new technology to help support, and protect our troops.

This post isn't he to discuss war, why we are at war, or if we should be at war. But rather give some idea of what the military is doing to protect the people we love, respect, and quiet frankly miss.

Today's post is about the latest and greatest in check point, and field operation security. The image you see to your left is a turrect mounted gun station. This paticuler setup is on vehicles and allows user to fire from within the safty of their vehicle. Heres a small quote form ArmyRecognition.com:

The Protector weapon control system protects military troops by allowing the vehicle's weapons to be operated from a protected position inside the vehicle.

Although this image shows a vehicle mounted version, Similar models are being design and tested for check point security stations. It is soon hoped that check points will be completely unmanned and have an arrangement of gun turrets as you see above.

Unnamed check points will allow operators to be anywhere in the world to secure check points and other items of use. This is just one of the many things they are doing to better serve out service men and woman.

Avatar (2009)

The King of the World has returned! Mr. James Cameron's youngest "Avatar" is a mind-blowing adventure and the most impressive and intricate work of art, I've ever seen.

When his twin brother is killed, disabled ex-Marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is recruited to aid a mining expedition on the distant jungle moon of Pandora as only his DNA will bond with the alien hybrid body, known as an Avatar, that allows humans to breathe the toxic air. With orders to infiltrate the Na'vi, Jake finds himself falling in love with native girl, Neytiri (Zoe Saldana).
This movie turned out good. The CGI is amazing considering the budget they spent. Although the turn out on opening day was not that great, this movie has pulled out in the box offices numbers. A must see for movie fans!

Have any of you seen this movie yet? What did you think of it?

If you like the movie, check out the book!

Oregon: Increased Traffic Call Higher Demands

It has been apparent to Oregonians in major metropolitan areas, that there seems to be more cars, and ever shrinking roads. The demand for dynamic traffic flow has been high for several years, But whats to be done?
ODOT has put out many reports containing traffic congestion reviews, but with what seems like little accuracy. With the populous growing higher by the year, Oregon is suffering from bogged down road ways.
ODOT has plans in action to fix some major roadways, but most of their plans fail to accommodate for higher traffic flow in condensed areas. With the new Train lines sprouting up, it's ODOT's hopes that this will help regulate the already over crowded road ways. Let's hope their statistics are at least close to correct.

Government: Friend Or Foe?

Over the last few decades, we have seen a dramatic increase in taxes. It is said that these increases are to provide solutions and services for the citizens of the united states, But whats really going on?
Lets take a closer look into the truth. Along with the tax increases all us Americans have lived through, there is 2 common trends. These trends work hand in hand, and bring a truthful reasoning to the pain behind new taxes.

Trend One: Increase spending. The government has placed those who work for them above other American citizens. If your a state or government employee, your pay, benefits, and paid vacations are doing nothing but increasing. With unemployment at it's highest, Why do State/Government employee's keep getting raises? (Hmm, think about it)

Trend Two: Lack Of Budgeting. Along with increased spending habits, lack of budgeting is hot on its tracks. Take a look into the past and look at just how many times taxes have increased over the course of several years (we'll call this X). Now look at how many times the government has done budget adjustments/Cuts (we will call this Y). If our X is happening because of the lack of Y's, then SOMEONES math is wrong. (let me assure you, It's not the government employee's making 3x that average of a civilian job)
My point comes down to this simple suggestion (If I'm not out of place, Of course). SPEND LESS, TAX LESS. Wouldn't budgeting for a sturdier economy be better for America in the long run?
(Oh wait, It's not about America. It's about securing Government jobs and benefits)

People For Peace

I have decided to do a small post for someone on myyearbook.

She is an young girl with a big dream! Here is a blurb from her site:

we are completely blessed to be living on this planet surrounded by beauty and people with golden hearts and minds.
But the thing is is that human beings tend to be angry, we tend to get jealous, we've managed to stray away from what we were meant to be, and that is a community of love; a community connected by heart and mind, a species created to live for the higher good.

And that brings me to my idea...
How do we fix what so many people think is already destroyed?

Stop by and take a look. She deserves it from all the hard work.
