Getting a job

OK, So lately Ive been looking around at billions upon billions of jobs, give or take a few billion. Ive come to notice one thing about trying to get a job. Every freaking job you apply for basically wants you to have experience before they will hire you. This leads me to this thought.

How are you going to get experience working, If every job is requiring you to have experience to work.

This makes NO sense whats so ever. I can understand if someone wants you to have some experience for being a manager or something of that sort, But in all honesty does a person who is going to stock shelf's relay need experience?

I think the whole working thing/Getting a job thing is way to complicated, people take it way to serious, and make it so much harder then it needs to be.

Havn't posted in a bit

Well if anyone has noticed I haven't posted anything for a while now. This is because of a crazy thing called a vehicle. No one ever knew this wonderful invention could cause SO MUCH trouble.

I was standing there looking into the opened hood of my brother Competition sky blue 2 door Jetta/GTI. Replacing the basic parts, spark plugs, wires, battery, distributor cap, etc. I realized, With all these plugs wires and every other doodad, Why don't they last longer?

THEN I realized, we are doing all this work to prepare for the future, getting better computers, high tech T.V's stuff of that sort. Why can't we figure out something less complicated like, a better motor? Why for some reason can't we take the things we have now, make them better and last longer.

I'm not against the growth of technology, but I think we should take the time to understand what we have now, and make the performance of it better.

Google Analytics

So if none of you noticed, during the loading stage of this page at the bottom left you will probably see something like "connecting to google.analytics.com" or something of that sort. That is because I have a code in on my page (which you can't see, its just a code that tells some information to my Analytics account).

What does this do for me?

I run two websites, This blog, and my peon server which is affiliated. I am able to go into my account and setup two sites, this one, and peon server. Putting each code in the corresponding websites. When i log in I choose which site I want to check, and by clicking on the name of the site, pulls up a page which shows statistics about the site. How many visits, a pie chart showing where they came from (IE. Google.com, your site.com my site.com) each having their own peace of pie showing %'s.

This is a great thing to have when you are trying to figure out how many hits you get per day and so on.

If you own a website, or even multiple websites, I highly recommend this tool for you. Its great and causes practically no lag in your website.

60gig Hard Drive
droadband connection

Right now im handing out anywhere from 5-10 Free hosting spots. If you are interested and would wan't to have your own site or w/e just emial me at jjonesdeisgn@gmail.com.

The rules go as follow:

Rome: Total War

What is Rome: Total War?

Rome: Total War is a RTS (real time strategy) which is taken to the next step. Setup like a board game, you build up your army, control and build city's, and create and destroy allies.

Where the real fun comes in, is when it's time to battle. you can take the easy way out by clicking the "Automatically resolve battle" Which jumps through the battle doing all the work for you. Or my personal favorite, is fighting the battle your self.

When you get into the start of the battle, your leader gives your troops a small pep talk, getting them riled up and ready to fight. The higher your leaders skill, the more energy they get, and the better they will fight. Once you listen to his pep talk (or after skipping the cut scene) you can choose to wait(for conditions to get better) or setup your army into a different formation. After your done with that, click the start button will hop you into battle. From there, what happens on the battle field is determined by you.

Game modes

There are a couple of game modes you can play on. After doing the tutorial you can choose from a few game modes. Your can start your campaign to take over all the land of Rome. Play a Historical battle, where you are playing a pre-arraigned battle based on historical battles. Or you can play Custom Battle. Which allows you to setup the battle field, The number of units, number of upgrades, Etc.

Whats with these movies?

A Scanner Darkly

This movie was actually not a bad movie. It was done using cel shading, and is actually not that bad of an idea when it comes to trying out new things. They used the cel shading to there advantage too, Which was amazing how they did it.

What do I think?

If this was the directors first movie, then I would give him HUGE props. but at this point, It's not. Overall this movie would be considered NOT that good. With a loose storyline and a lack of details on whats going on it makes for a stretched out tweaker movie. I know this is suppose to be one of those "sci-fi Mystery" time movies, but it does lack in quite a bit.

What would I rate it?

Personally I'd rate this movie at about a 6 out of 10. but only because they used the cel shading to achieve AWESOME effects. Hopefully this director will put out another movie using the same techniques, but with a little better story line. Hopefully next time he will choose a better main character too. I mean come on, he was good in the matrix, but I can't take him seriously anymore.

Wrap it up

It was an ok movie, Id probably watch it again, but only because id pay more detail and try and figure out a few things that to me they left out. If you want to watch a movie that is different, then id choose this one.

A Follow Up On My Last Post

You Forgot Mac!?

So I forgot to add The Operating System made by Macintosh aka apple. I didn't do that on purpose. It's just so rare to sea a mac around here, so it mearly slipped my mind. Ill go straight into this.

Macs are only good for a couple things, Artsy program's ,animation (2d and 3d) and as a boat anchor.

The only things that apple has made that are worth the hundreds of pennies you pay for them, are the Ipod (Trademark) and the Intel chip set laptop which we all know people only buy so they can slap Linux on them, maybe even windows (but they will only do that if they play lots of games)

So to make up for my mistake of leaving Mac out, I have collected a few items to make up for it. Please do Enjoy!

Now The Comedy

Gaming platform?...NOT

Rebooting.. One thing Linux never has to do.

And we all know that girlfriends are just like this :) <3...

What os?

Topic suggestion sent in by: Kellobyte

Operating systems, What do I choose? What is better? Which cost more?

It all boils down to personal favor. There are many things you have to look at when choosing what kind of operation system you want to install. This is my attempt at writing a guide to help you choose your flavor of operating system.

Whats out there?

First, lets take a look and make a short list of the obvious and most popular operating systems.

-Window versions-

Windows XP (Yes, the Microsoft product is first, because its still the most used)
Windows Vista (New, Cost way to much, and requires way more computer specs than I care for)
Windows Media Edition (This is what I am currently running on my laptop, Not because I like windows, but the fact is. It's allot easier to run on a laptop.)

-Linux, Unix, and OS alike-

Ubuntu ( This is a great Operating system, To me it is the perfect Linux distro for a first time user to start out with. The easy to use installer prevents a firs time user from drooling in front of a command line.) You can get this OS at: www.ubuntu.com

Gentoo (If your a person who likes to build things from the ground up, to your own specs. Then this OS is perfect for you. You can build you way up from the basic install. Which gives you nothing but a shell, and a built in program to download software directly into the OS with a simple command. Much like the apt get from Debian, Gentoo has a smooth download repository.) you can get this OS at: www.gentoo.org

This is only two of the Linux flavors, You can find out about all of the rest by visiting http://distrowatch.com/

Speed

When it boils down the the last drop, Windows operating systems get blown away when it comes to speed and performance. Windows just has to much support for EVERYTHING, and by doing that slows the performance, and lowers its score in the speed game.

Linux on the other hand calls for a little more skill when install and setting up for your hardware. Although it has great support, that at times can be far better then Windows Os's it usually lacks when it comes the the installation of drivers. With Linux not having very much built in diver support. It opens the CPU up to do more vital things, Like running your favorite MMORPG.

Cost

Windows operating system usually round out at around 100 dollars. But can go even higher when it comes the Pro edition, Or even server edition.

Linux is far more cheaper when it comes to the Operating system. All Linux distro's come free with the download of the .ISO image off the Internet. In some cases like when it comes to Red Hat Enterprise Edition, they will not charge you for the OS its self, But will charge you when it comes to getting Support.
