Oregon Voting - Measures 66 and 67

Some of you may have seen billboards, signs, or advertisements on television about measures 66 and 67 in the state of Oregon. Many of you are probably wondering if this measure even effects your life. Here is what some of you may not know yet.

Measures 67 will impose a tax increase for Business Corporations in the state of Oregon. This measure will bring the state tax minimum from the current amount, Of no less then $10, to a higher $150 state minimum. This state minimum is for business's that have actually lost money over the last year. This measure also instates a 1.3 point increase in state tax filing fee's.

Measure 66 is everyone's concern. This measure imposes tax increases on individuals as well as household incomes. This tax increase is aimed at those households who's income reaches 250k+ a year. or 125k for a single.

The problems start here. The state of Oregon is considered the best place for small business's. With one of the lowest tax rates, Oregon has had growing number's of small business's. These measures effect the owners of these business's who claim the companies income on them self's. Roughly 20% of small business's in Oregon will be effected by these new measures. This in turn will cause yet even more job losses for the state of Oregon.
Funds raised from these new taxes will go to state education, public safety, and health care in the state of Oregon.

It's been Long. It's Been Fun.
